This year, and especially this Spring season, I’ve been busy photographing seniors in high school and college. It’s such a great time in people’s lives to be photographing them! They’re finishing up years of work on one part of their life and beginning something new. There’s always plenty to talk about during the session and great to see their faces as we talk about the exciting new things they’re about to start. To all graduates (myself included, hooray!) this year, congratulations!
Here’s a sneak peek of the portraits for my senior clients this year. I’ll be blogging more favorites from each of their sessions as May wears on into Summer.

UPDATE: You can see some of the best shots of Sara’s session by launching this slideshow!
If you know Sara, you know she’s got “The Looks.” Yeah, she’s beautiful, but that’s not what I mean. Sara’s “looks” say a lot without saying anything and so far today, this one is my favorite. We’re headed back out to shoot again at sunset so we’ll see what other “looks” will contend for the prize.

This past Saturday, I had the privilege of shooting the wedding of some good friends and recent students of mine. Mike had always said he was going to marry Kirby though many of us didn’t believe him. It’s great to get to photograph people I already know so well. Their moments are already my moments and we share them together.
Congratulations you two. May God bless you and keep you in His love.
Chris

I’m not going to ignore that this is my first blog post. I am, however going to get right to what’s important – the content of these blog posts.
I’m testing out the Canon 85 mm 1.2L this week. Not that there’s much testing required. This lens is a hoss in every sense of the word (though I’m not sure exactly how many senses in which hoss comes). The build is solid. Each time I snap this lens in place, I feel as though I just attached a brick to my camera body. It’s autofocus is as slow as it’s bokeh is creamy and it captures just about every stray ray of light available. Aside from that, I still have to send it back to lensrentals.com tomorrow so I’m going to try to squeeze one more morning shoot in. If you ever need anything in the way of renting lens, bodies, or accessories I highly recommend LensRentals. Their service stands alone.
Here are the test shots with the Canon 85mm 1.2L at bath time:
